The Opinel No.9 Oyster Knife is a pocket knife used to gently open shellfish. Its robust stainless steel blade (6.5 cm long) cuts only at the tip (1.5 cm sharpened). Its tip centred in the axis offer better ergonomics.
The handle is made from Bubinga, which is a compact African wood with a fine grain. Its colour varies from brown to pink with purple veins. The Knife has a Virobloc safety ring, which is fitted to all Opinel folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport.)
